We do one thing. Cast iron drain lines under SW Florida slabs. That is the whole company.

Most plumbers do everything. Water heaters, faucets, re-pipes, drain cleaning, and cast iron on the side when it comes up. There is nothing wrong with that. But cast iron failure under a slab is its own problem, and it rewards a crew that sees it every week instead of a few times a year. Reading a camera run and knowing the difference between a pipe that will hold a liner and one that has to come out is judgment you only build by doing it over and over.

Why the coastal, pre-1975 focus

The homes that need us were built before 1975 and plumbed with cast iron drain pipe. Fifty years of coastal air, acidic soil, and constant moisture does specific things to that iron. The bottom of the pipe erodes and thins out, which we call channeling. Rust scale builds up on the walls and chokes the flow, which we call spalling. We wrote up exactly why this happens down here in our guide to why cast iron fails in SW Florida.

This is a regional problem with a regional cause, and it is why a company that only works on it makes sense here. The pipe under your slab is not failing because it was cheap. It is failing because it is old and it lives in the wrong climate for iron.

How we are different

There are two kinds of companies that show up for a cast iron job. Lining companies want to line everything, because lining is what they sell. Repipe crews want to rip everything out, because a full dig is the bigger ticket. Both are answering the question before they have looked.

We camera first and quote both paths. If your pipe can be lined, we will tell you it can be lined, even though the dig would pay us more. If it is channeled through and a liner will not hold, we will tell you that too, and we will not pretend a cheaper patch is going to last. We do not sell a job you do not need. The footage decides, not the invoice.

Licensed, insured, and local

Gulf Coast Cast Iron is licensed and insured. We work the Cape Coral and Fort Myers area, across Lee County and Charlotte County. That is our service area and we keep it tight on purpose, because underground work in this region has its own quirks and we would rather know a market cold than spread thin across the state.

If your 4-point inspection flagged cast iron and you are staring at an insurance deadline, that is the exact situation we exist for. Send us your report and we will tell you what it actually means for your pipes. No pressure, no floor opened until we both know what is down there.
